PARANTAR, origin unknown for the moment.
Although it is one of the original 750 last names that came about in 1849/50 due to the Claveria decree it does not seem to have come from the Catalogo Alfabetico de Apellidos. Based on the available records the family remained in close proximity with each other and stayed in or around the barrio of what is now Binlod today.

Very highly likely that ALL Parantars from Argao descend from this couple. Silvestre Baltazar was born sometime in 1750. He married Ynes Dionisia (later surnamed Villamor) sometime in 1780 and they had at least two traceable children:
A. Juan Silvestre Parantar, born sometime in the 1790s and most likely the one to choose the surname "Parantar" for his family. He married Maria Juana Geyrozaga and they had 7 children. These are the ancestors of most of the people carrying Parantar today.
a. Silveria Juana Parantar m. Pedro Agustin Camporedondo - descendants carry the last name Camporedondo
b. Maria Agueda Parantar m. Agustin Doroteo Sarabillo - descendants carry the last name Sarabillo

B. Vicenta Parantar, born in the late 1790s. She married Jose Villamor and they had at least two children:
